After a sensational 2021 season, Bryce Harper was awarded the NL MVP for his performance with the Philadelphia Phillies over finalists Juan Soto (Washington Nationals) and Fernando Tatis Jr. (San Diego Padres). Despite failing to lead the Phillies to the playoffs, Harper led all major leagues with 42 doubles, .615 SLG, 1.044 OPS, and 179 OPS+.

This is Harper’s second career MVP, his first back in 2015 with the Nationals after leading the NL in six offensive categories. Harper has now won an MVP with both teams he’s played for, becoming just the 5th player in MLB history to win an MVP with multiple teams, joining Alex Rodriguez, Barry Bonds, Frank Robinson and Jimmie Foxx.
