Nine days ago, Mike White had never taken an NFL snap. Fast forward to Sunday and the 26 year-old out of Pembroke Pines, Florida was breaking league records. Among White’s notable feats were his 37 completions, the most by any player in their first start, along with 400 yards and 3 touchdowns, making him the first Jets QB to do so since 1998.

Forced into an emergency role last week following Zach Wilson‘s injury, White took full advantage of having a full week of reps with the first team offense. He led the Jets to an improbable win over the heavily-favored Bengals, giving them their second win in what has been a difficult season and kicked off what could be a surprisingly impressive career in the Big Apple or an unprecedented flash in the pan.
