Originally drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the second round of the 2004 MLB draft, Dustin Pedroia would make his MLB debut in 2006, playing in 31 games. In his official rookie season the following year, Pedroia won the AL ROY and the Red Sox swept the Rockies in the World Series. Pedroia kept improving and won the AL MVP in 2008 after leading the league in Runs, Hits, and Doubles.

Pedroia continued to play at above average levels and finished in the top-10 for AL MVP voting in 2013 following an All-Star and Golden Glove season; the Red Sox would beat the Cardinals 4-2 that year and Dustin Pedroia would earn his second World Series ring. Pedroia retired in 2019 after 14 years in the Bigs after he cemented his legacy as an all-time 2nd baseman in Red Sox history.
