October 2, 2022 in sports was highlighted by the Buffalo Bills coming back from a 17-point deficit to defeat the Baltimore Ravens 23-20. Mahomes made highlight-reel plays on SNF in a 41-31 victory against Brady’s Bucs. Kenny Pickett made his NFL debut after Mitch Trubisky was benched in loss to Zach Wilson and the Jets, who also made his season debut. Patriots backup QB Brian Hoyer got injured just a week after starter Mac Jones went down with a high ankle sprain, so rookie Bailey Zappe made his NFL debut in an OT loss to the Packers.
Atlanta Braves got the biggest win of the 2022 MLB regular season thanks to sweeping the Mets for control of the NL East while the Blue Jays set records against Boston this year. Minnesota beat Detroit after a GW-FG in London, Seahawks and Lions had an unexpected shootout, and Cooper Rush moved to 4-0 as a QB starter. The Eagles used another big 2nd quarter to take down Jacksonville in Doug Pederson’s return to Philly, Dameon Pierce had the longest rookie RUSH TD in Texans history, plus the Miami Heat signed Tyler Herro to a large extension.
