Albert Pujols made history on August 24th as he drove in his 2,087th career run, passing Alex Rodriguez for the second most over the last 100 years (since RBIs became official in 1920). His accomplishment wasn’t alone on Monday’s edition of the must-see highlights as Tampa’s terrific defense, a HEADS-up play by Calhoun, and Cleveland’s ridiculous relay also generated fans attention from 8/24.

Albert Pujols was The Machine earlier in his career with St. Louis where he drove in 100+ runs for a whopping TEN consecutive years (no active player currently has over five). He hasn’t been the same player in LA, but he’s still racked up 100+ RBIs multiple times and showed he can still come through with runners on base as he now officially has the second most RBI’s in the history of the game.

Led by Kevin Kiermaier, the best defensive outfielder in the MLB, Tampa Bay flashed the leather on Monday as they look to live up to the moniker that defense wins championships.

Stuck in the middle of a pickle, Kole Calhoun’s chances of being out were near the 99th percentile. However, Calhoun caught a lucky break when the throw went in the vicinity of his head where he took one for the team and got himself in scoring position.

In the matchup of the day in the MLB, the best two teams in the AL Central faced off as the 17-11 Cleveland Indians hosted the 19-10 Minnesota Twins with playoff implications on the line. The Twins could’ve taken the lead here in the 5th inning if it wasn’t for a perfect relay that was on point from the wall to the plate.

Even though the Indians kept the Twins from scoring in the 5th, they couldn’t stop Miguel Sano from blasting a bomb in the 6th inning that proved to be the difference in Game 1 of this intense series as Sano stays hot to extend his eight-game hitting streak.

Down 3-2 in the 7th inning, Randal Grichuk stepped up and didn’t leave the batter’s box until his team had a 2-run lead thanks to his 3-run dinger.

Trevor Bauer has been damn near unhittable in 2020 as he entered the evening with a league-leading 0.68 ERA (2 ER over 26.1 IP). However, it looks like he may have found his kryptonite in Justin Smoak who drove in three runs against Bauer himself.

However, that didn’t stop Bauer from acting like he was chugging a beer after ringing up his fourth straight batter.
