Bucky Irving delivered his best performance of the 2026 NFL season Thursday night, leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a 24-16 upset victory over the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium.

The third-year running back rushed for a career-high 165 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries, averaging an impressive 7.9 yards per attempt. Irving also added two receptions for 10 yards and another score, finishing with 175 total yards and two touchdowns.

Irving made his presence felt early, hauling in a five-yard touchdown pass from rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels to tie the game at seven in the second quarter.

His biggest play came on Tampa Bay’s first offensive snap of the second half, when he broke free for a 72-yard run that set up the go-ahead touchdown. Irving later punched in a one-yard rushing touchdown to extend the Buccaneers’ advantage.

Playing without starting quarterback Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay leaned heavily on Irving and its rushing attack to control the game. Daniels also impressed in his second career start, completing 19 of 25 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown.

The victory marked Tampa Bay’s first win of the season, improving its record to 1-4 while dropping Dallas to 2-3.

For Irving, Thursday night’s breakout performance provided a reminder of his explosive playmaking ability and importance to the Buccaneers’ offense as they look to turn their season around.

BUCKY IRVING’S VISION IS UP THERE WITH ANYONE

Bucky Irving showcased his vintage vision en route to victory on a 72-yard run to set the tone in the second half for Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers had to rely on a backup Quarterback so Irving took it among himself to step up in primetime to upset the Dallas Cowboys.

Irving is one of the best at having a great balance and avoiding going down after initial contact. An underrated trait of his is his vision, which he put on full display during Tampa’s first win of the 2026 season. There’s a great sky angle of his run where fans can see his knack for finding the open hole and bursting into the secondary without hesitation. His vision is as good as any NFL Running Back in 2026.
