The elite guard-play of the Raptors was enough to squeak by Miami, while Jokic and the Mile High City Nuggets settled things in overtime against the Thunder. Indiana’s T.J. Warren continued his Orlando Bubble MVP campaign, and a faceoff between the top two Rookie of the Year candidates resulted in Zion coming out victorious this time. With the chips down, Shake Milton came through and nailed a CLUTCH three to save the day for Philly.
Enjoy the best NBA highlights from Monday all in one place:
The 76ers acquired Shake Milton on July 26th and that signing is already paying dividends. After a rough outing on Sunday, Milton bounced back in a big way by providing Philly some late-game heroics with the go-ahead three-pointer in the final seconds to sink the Spurs.
Nikola Jokic cranked off a colossal performance reeling in his 13th triple-double this season (career-high) to power the Nuggets past the Thunder in the extra period.
Anthony Davis, coming off the heels of a mediocre game, revived his All-NBA level talent against the Jazz’s top-tier defense. His 42 points gave L.A. the boost they needed to lockup the No. 1 seed in the West.
Most Improved Player of the Year candidate Brandon Ingram played up to his All-Star caliber ways while last year’s No. 1 overall draft pick Zion received a larger load of minutes than his previous game. Their dynamic play in the 4th quarter was crucial in lifting New Orleans to its first victory in Orlando.
Michael Porter Jr. was thwarted with a back injury his first season, but is now beginning to blossom with Denver. A healthy mixture of spot-up threes and slick cuts to the rim earned the former Mizzou standout a career-high 27 points.
Following an outstanding career-high scoring night in his previous game, T.J. showed he’s more than a one-hit-wonder. The bubble breakout player not only stuffed the stat-sheet but secured another W for Indiana.
T.J. Warren still hot from his 53-point performance last game
The 2016 No. 1 overall pick Ben Simmons has progressed to being one of the league’s premier playmakers (8.1 APG). He flaunted his talent as he hit teammates with a couple of savvy dimes.
Former undrafted free agent Fred VanVleet’s career-high in points was critical for the Raptors to withstand Miami’s 2nd half surge. In the process, he splashed home seven three-pointers on a mix of catch-and-fire and off the dribble type shots.
Zo was throwing bullseyess on the court, hitting teammates in stride for riveting finishes at the rim. Lonzo has quickly become one of the premier passers in the NBA and might already be the long-range passing king as he regularly tosses up alleys on the money from beyond half court.
Kyle Lowry provided a spark in every facet of Monday’s game, helping build an early 17-point lead over the Heat as the leading catalyst for the reigning champs.
Steal. Draw a charge. Knock down a three. A block.
Reminiscent of his world-renowned chase down block against Iguodala in the 2016 NBA Finals, the King gave fans a reminder of his innate ability to pin shots against the glass with this rejection.
