After being signed out of Cuba by the St. Louis Cardinals in 2017, it took Adolis Garcia a few years before becoming a mainstay in an MLB lineup. He was traded to the Texas Rangers in December of 2019 for cash considerations and was added to the active roster after Spring Training before this season. Since getting his first big chance in the MLB, Garcia has already become an All-Star and set numerous rookie records in Texas Rangers franchise history (since 1961).

ADOLIS GARCIA IS THE GREATEST OFFENSIVE ROOKIE IN TEXAS RANGERS HISTORY

COLORS KEY | FULL RANGERS OUTLOOK

Before the 2021 season, the 28-year-old Adolis Garcia did not have more than 17 at-bats in a single season. When he was finally given his chance as a starting outfielder, he got off to a blistering start as the AL Rookie of the Month in May and being elected to the MLB All-Star Game. As a rookie, Garcia is batting .242/.285/.454 to go along with 31 HR and 90 RBI, leading the struggling Rangers in both categories.

He now holds the franchise record for both home runs and RBI among rookie hitters, breaking marks set by Pete Incaviglia in 1986. Garcia has had a tremendous season for the Rangers and has been one of the few bright spots for the team who holds a record of 59-100 with just three games left. He has cemented his legacy as the best hitting Texas Rangers rookie ever and could perhaps continue to be the best player on the Rangers whole team
