After going winless throughout the entirety of November, the hype surrounding the new look Los Angeles Rams as a potential Super Bowl contender quickly died out. Matthew Stafford‘s initial impact had been overshadowed by a run of two games in which he threw as many interceptions as he did in the previous eight weeks combined.

On Monday, however, the Rams were finally able to bounce and make a statement, largely due to outstanding performances by Cooper Kupp, Aaron Donald, and the aforementioned QB1. The Rams earned themselves a big road win against a strong Arizona Cardinals roster, that held the best record across the NFL entering the game. Indeed, the entire team appeared to be clicking in a way the fans had not seen in quite some time and are looking like the real deal down the stretch.

  • Andrew Whitworth is the 1st player to start at Left Tackle at 40+ years old in NFL history
  • Aaron Donald is the 1st NFL player to record a SK on 1st & last play during the same game in the last 30 years
  • Matt Prater has the most career FGM (65) of 50+ YDS in the NFL since 1960

DON’T SLEEP ON THE LOS ANGELES RAMS MAKING THE SUPER BOWL OUT OF THE NFC

After their big win on Monday Night Football, it appears the Los Angeles Rams should be included in the list of legitimate Super Bowl contenders. The Rams are now just one game from leading the NFC West and have acquired many of the pieces commonly found in championship teams. Their offense is led by immense talent in the form of Stafford and Kupp, and defensive stars like Jalen Ramsey and Aaron Donald could make a real difference in the postseason.

With the 2021 NFL season edging ever closer to the postseason, a number of teams have emerged as favorites to make a deep playoff run. Among the more obvious names are the Packers surrounding Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady‘s Bucs, but franchises like the Arizona Cardinals have made quite a statement this season as well.

Add to that the experience provided by veterans such as Andrew Whitworth and Von Miller, as well as the resilience shown by the entire roster after a disappointing November, and Los Angeles might be home to a Super Bowl champion for the first time since 1983. While the Rams still face a variety of problems, including a number of injuries, their ability to make a deep postseason run should not be underestimated.
