The Milwaukee Bucks stayed hot as they won their 8th straight game, but the boys from Boston made it very interesting late, almost coming back from a 20+pt deficit, but falling short after a missed Daniel Theis 3PA ended the game. Unlike Milwaukee, Phoenix cooled off tonight, losing to an Evan Fournier winner with 6.4 seconds left. Caris LaVert helped Indiana stop a 6-game home losing streak, hitting a 3-point dagger late in the game against Detroit.

Another losing skid was halted, as Toronto ended their nine-game losing streak at home against Denver, knocking down a franchise-record 24 3PM in the process. Cleveland held Chicago to just 94 points on the road, leaving with a victory despite the absence of Collin Sexton

Houston’s win on Monday was short-lived, as they went back to getting blown out by the LaMelo-less Hornets. Dallas walked away with a road win in MIN, but it was mostly thanks to 29 points from Kristaps Porzingis, as Luka Doncic was only 6-16 from the field, despite some slick no-look dimes.

Memphis won in OKC and flipped their record to over .500, keeping playoff hopes alive. It was a night to forget for San Antonio, as the Clippers and San Antonio’s ex-star Kawhi Leonard dropped 25 on the way to a blowout victory. Brooklyn missed their star trio, getting blown out by 30 in Utah to Donovan Mitchell and company. Rookie of the year candidate Tyrese Haliburton had two clutch free throws late in the game for Sacramento along with De’Aaron Fox’s 37 points to secure a close win over Atlanta.

NBA TOP PERFORMERS

NO NBA PLAYER HAS OVERCOME ADVERSITY LIKE CARIS LEVERT

Caris LeVert was recently traded to the Indiana Pacers this season, when the medical team discovered a small mass on his kidney. Unfortunately, this mass turned out to be cancerous and had to be given serious medical attention. LeVert finally returned to action this month and is quickly gaining back his old form. He had a signature performance against Detroit on Wednesday with a lethal dagger step-back to seal the win against Indy’s division-rival.

LeVert has shown that he can be an efficient scorer in this league, but something always seems to get in the way. Other than the cancerous kidney mass, LeVert was sidelined in 2018 with a right foot dislocation and fell to #20 in the draft because of knee injuries. He’s shown signs that he can be a prolific scorer but is constantly set back. The way he continues to battle through adversity and always comes back to find success is a testament to the kind of player he is, and more importantly, the kind of person he is.

The trade to Indiana might finally be the opportunity LeVert needed to showcase his entire skillset. He is now in a similar situation that Victor Oladipo was in with Indiana. He’s a starting guard who can go get a bucket when he needs to and has put the team on his back before. Oladipo thrived in this system, even earning All-Star status, and if LeVert can stay healthy, there is strong reason to believe the 26-year-old Michigan alum can overcome adversity once again to reach that high level of success like only he has.
