KOBE BRYANT WAS ONE OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL ATHLETES OF ALL TIME
There is no denying that Kobe Bryant was one of the best basketball players ever. In his 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers, he went to 18 All-Star games while also earning 11 1st-Team All-NBA and nine 1st-Team All-Defense honors. The Black Mamba holds franchise records in a number of statistical categories, and he became the only player EVER with two separate jersey numbers retired by one team as they hang in the rafters of the Staples Center forever.
While he certainly dominated on the court, Bryant also spent considerable time making a difference off the court. He started various foundations that help raise money for underserved communities in the United States and in China, plus he was a strong advocate for women’s basketball and gender equality. Given his exceptional basketball talent, signature “mamba mentality,” and “Girl Dad” moniker, Kobe’s influential legacy will live on forever as he already has his own award for the NBA All-Star Game MVP.
