Even with a couple games getting postponed this week, Sunday featured another lineup of incredibly exciting football games after Thursday’s lackluster matchup. Perhaps the most exciting one that few people were expecting to be as exciting as it was saw the Cleveland Browns and Dallas Cowboys get entangled into a 4-TD comeback in the fourth quarter.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon went off, finishing with a hat trick to help Joe Burrow get his first career victory and Tom Brady showed everyone that despite his north-of-40 age and being on a new team, he still has what it takes to succeed. Carson Wentz capped off the day with what could be a turning point in his disappointing 2020 season. Of course, Russell Wilson, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson got in the action as well, furthering their respective MVP cases this season.

With a 41-14 lead heading into the 4th quarter, the Cleveland Browns seemed to have a blowout win locked up over the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys would not go down quietly though as they suddenly came to life, scoring 24 straight points to bring the deficit to within just a FG and seemed to be in perfect position to pull off another wild, improbable comeback win. The Browns were able to avoid a major collapse however, responding to the Cowboys’ 24-straight with an insane reverse to OBJ to put things out of reach for QB Dak Prescott and the Dallas offense.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon had a massive day, carrying the Cincinnati offense with a 3-TD performance as the Bengals pick up their first win of the season and rookie QB Joe Burrow gets his first NFL victory.

The San Francisco 49ers clung on to a 14-11 lead for a majority of the second half, but two costly turnovers proved to be their downfall as the Philadelphia Eagles capitalized on each of them and scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to upset the reigning NFC Champs 25-20. The Eagles now hold sole possession of first place in the NFC East despite their unimpressive 1-2-1 record.

49ers TE George Kittle returned to form after missing the last two weeks with injury, setting records on SNF while catching 15 passes for 183 yards and a TD.

Niners rookie WR Brandon Aiyuk made an incredibly athletic hurdle over an Eagles defender to score SF’s first TD of the game.

On Cleveland’s first drive of the game, the Browns got things going early in Texas with an unpredictable trick play. WR Jarvis Landry took the double reverse and launched a 37-yd TD to fellow LSU alum OBJ that sparked their near 50-pt performance.

Even though Bucs QB Tom Brady has had early-season struggles with his new team, he had a vintage performance in a shootout win against the Chargers with 5 TDs and 369 yards. The win keeps the Bucs as owners of first place in the NFC South.

Chargers HC Anthony Lynn might have to reconsider his earlier statement where he declared QB Tyrod Taylor as the Chargers’ starting QB with the way rookie QB Justin Herbert is shining as he posted another solid performance in Week 4, despite the 38-31 loss to the Buccaneers. Herbert showed off his deep-ball capability with a couple of nice dimes and finished with 290 yards and 3 TDs.

This play showed off the skills of Herbert’s accuracy AND Keenan Allen’s sideline awareness.

Mobile QBs throughout the league had some nice performances on the ground, as Ravens QB Lamar Jackson slashed through the Washington defense on a 50-yard TD run and Cardinals QB Kyler Murray showed off his rare mobility as well. Panthers QB Teddy Bridgewater put his dual threat capabilities on display by making plays in the air and on the ground, juking his way to a score in the Panthers’ upset dub over the Cards.

Seahawks QB Russell Wilson continued his MVP-like performance against the Dolphins, leading them to a 31-23 win in the Sunshine State. This game remained close for a majority of the time, but the Seahawks pulled away late in the 4th quarter and iced it with a late TD to secure a 4-0 record on the season as they remain the sole leader of the NFL’s toughest division in the NFC West.

Following two deflating losses, the New Orleans Saints escaped the loss column in Week 4 and took down the Detroit Lions 35-29. Detroit certainly did not make it easy for New Orleans as they quickly jumped out to a 14-point lead but could not maintain it against a Saints team desperate for a win.

The Buffalo Bills improved to 4-0 for the first time since 2008 in large part due to their clutch defensive takeaways late in the game as they took down the Las Vegas Raiders, 30-23. BUF is starting to look like a team that could be a serious contender in the AFC.

Even though the Cowboys made a huge push offensively in the 4th quarter, the Browns’ defense was able to hang on and seal the deal for the 49-38 win.

The Houston Texans, a team many expected to compete with the top teams in the AFC once again, have struggled early in the season. Their woes continued as they fell to the Minnesota Vikings, 31-23, with MIN picking up their first win of the season after also starting 0-3. The Texans made a late push but were unable to overcome their early deficit.

The Los Angeles Rams made a critical play midway through the fourth quarter when QB Jared Goff connected with his top WR Cooper Kupp on a 55-yd TD to secure the 17-9 win over the uninspiring New York Giants.

Jalen Ramsey also added this textbook tackle technique as he bulldozed over the blocker to bring Tate down behind the line of scrimmage.

The Bears’ top receiving target came up with a nice TD catch late in the fourth quarter, although it was too little too late as CHI fell to the Colts 19-11.

Julian Edelman led the NFL in drops last year with 15 and already has five this season. While his first drop unexpectedly landed in his teammate’s hands for a clutch third down conversion, the second drop didn’t end up so fortunate for New England as the Honey Badger took it the other way for six.
