Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado, and Wil Myers of the Padres electrified baseball fans everywhere Thursday night (besides STL fans) with some clutch dingers that helped San Diego come back and force a Game 3. The Oakland A’s and Chicago White Sox played in the first ever winner-take-all game in a Wild Card series that featured its own come back, while the Cubs-Marlins didn’t even get to play (postponed due to inclement weather). Clayton Kershaw and Ian Anderson also shined to help the NL’s top two teams advance on the first day of October.

Fernando Tatis Jr. and company stole the show Thursday with power-hitting, clutch timing, and energy that was felt throughout the baseball universe. The Padres have forced a Game 3 after coming back from a 4-run deficit in electrifying fashion with bombs galore.

Unlike many notable NBA players, the nickname ‘Playoff Kershaw’ has been given to the greatest pitcher of this generation because of his notorious struggles in October. That wasn’t the case against Milwaukee as the 3x Cy Young winner was in the zone all game long, racking up 13 Ks over 8 scoreless IP.

After forcing a winner-take-all Game 3 on Wednesday, the A’s made good on their extra opportunity in this do-or-die game. It wasn’t looking great at first as the Sox got out to an early 3-0 lead. The A’s then settled down and came back from behind like they’ve been doing all year to clinch a date against the Astros with a trip to the ALCS on the line.

On a night that was headlined by a young, electrifying player in Tatis Jr., Luis Robert could be the next one to take the league by storm as the incumbent No.1 prospect in all of baseball. He showed that lofty potential Thursday with this mile-long dinger that still hasn’t landed yet.

Cincinnati entered the postseason with more momentum than any team in the league, but ran into a pitching staff that completely shut them down, allowing 0 runs over the two games that stretched 22 innings, the longest scoreless start to a postseason in MLB history. Marcell Ozuna added the dagger dinger in the 8th and ensured he captured the moment the Braves FINALLY won a playoff series after a long slump.

Thursday featured no shortage of gold-glove caliber plays as Yadier Molina, Kolton Wong, and Tommy La Stella all came through with some big-time defensive stops.

Full game highlights of today’s MLB Playoff games will be posted here once they conclude.
