Kenta Maeda captured the MLB universe’s attention when he entered the 9th inning with a no-hitter intact. While he wasn’t able to seal the deal, that Twins-Brewers game had plenty of excitement to more than make up for it in those final frames. When it comes to August 18th’s most exciting plays, home run robberies from Robles and Lewis might take the cake while Tatis Jr.’s unorthodox slide has a strong case as well.

Enjoy the best highlights from Tuesday’s MLB action all in one place:

Three outs away from the first no-hitter of the 2020 season, Maeda was hoping to make history. Instead, a lead-off base knock ended his no-hit bid and chaos ensued. The Brewers tied the game up in that half inning while Minnesota’s great defense and speed ended up lifting them to victory in extra innings.

Victor Robles and Kyle Lewis are two of brightest young CF’s in the MLB. Not only on the offensive end, but defensively, those players have all the tools to be perennial Gold Glove candidates. No play from them this season will likely represent that more than these HR robberies on Tuesday night.

Everything El Nino does these days seems to be electrifying. 24 hours after a controversial Grand Slam, Tatis Jr. showed no signs of slowing down despite a 6-0 lead by stealing third base with the pitcher still on the rubber. A foolish decision in retrospect didn’t matter as the Padres superstar finessed his way past Todd Frazier at the hot corner to truly steal the extra base.

Not to be outdone by his infield compadre, Manny Machado made his own highlight reel play on Tuesday outside of the batter’s box. Playing in the shift against slugging left-hander Joey Gallo, Manny Machado then ran about 100 feet to make this catch at the warning track in RF. Keep in mind, Machado’s standard position is 3B.

With the game tied 3-3 in extra innings, every inch counts, with that never being more true than after witnessing this at-bat. Carlos Santana blasted a 1-0 offering down the left-field line that traveled right over the foul pole. Some camera angles make it look foul, some make it look fair. All that matters is what it ends up getting called, and after replay review, it stood as a game-winning 3-run shot.

On a night where Los Angeles fans were witnessing no-look dimes from King James, Dodgers pitcher Scott Alexander hit his own no-look by snagging this comebacker, while making it seem easy.

The Houston Astros have some of the top talent in the big leagues, but it was their coaching strategy that fueled this win as Manager Dusty Baker made the decision to move his runners over on a sacrifice bunt for Myles Straw, who made his skipper look smart with the walk-off RBI in a game that was 0-0 after 9 innings.

J.P. Crawford has made his fair share of defensive highlights in a Seattle Mariners uniform, and added another to the list on Tuesday with this diving double play.

Young Yaz already has a good amount of walk-off shots at the plate on his career resume and Mike Yastrzemski can now add this 2-run saving highlight-reel defensive play to the mix.

Only up one run in the 6th inning, Bryce Harper took it upon himself to ensure Boston’s 8-game losing streak continues with this 3-run bomb that gave Philly more than enough insurance it needed to close out the win.

Full game highlights of today’s close games will be posted here once they conclude.
