The Philadelphia Eagles have taken yet another blow to their Offensive Line. Starting LG Isaac Seumalo is now out for the year after suffering a Lisfranc injury on Monday night against the Dallas Cowboys. With RG Brandon Brooks and LT Jordan Mailata already out, the coming weeks should be a real test of the Eagles’ depth. Fortunately, the team in Philly is well-prepared for the challenge after also getting depleted up front last season.

  • Philadelphia Eagles have set franchise record for penalties (35) through the 1st 3 games of a season
  • Isaac Seumalo has started every game he’s played for the last 3 years (28 GS/28 GP)
  • Hurts has recorded more INT against the Cowboys (4) than against all other NFL teams combined (2)

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES HAVE AS MUCH O-LINE DEPTH AS ANY NFL TEAM

While Monday night’s thumping by the Dallas Cowboys and Seumalo’s subsequent injury update surely did not fill Eagles fans with optimism, the franchise’s season is far from over. Carson Wentz faced a similar situation last year after a number of injuries to his O-Line, having to settle for an extremely young and inferior set of players. However, those experiences have now built those young players to be starting-caliber this year.

Both Mailata and Dillard have looked capable of being franchise blindside protectors after being unproven before last season and Nate Herbig is well-prepared to take over for Seumalo. Furthermore, Landon Dickerson appears to be a promising rookie able to fill in for Brandon Brooks at RG and able to move over to LG once Brooks returns midseason. The franchise should thus remain optimistic that their O-Line is capable of overcoming setbacks with the most depth as any O-Line in the NFL.
