A couple of intense NBA Playoff games transpired on Monday as the Heat and Bucks christened their Round 2 series with top-notch contributions from All-Stars Jimmy Butler and Khris Middleton. Then Houston and Oklahoma City went to war where veteran Chris Paul came up clutch, pushing this series to the distance to see who will challenge the King in the next round.

The unconventional offensive style of Jimmy Butler paid off as he diced up the Bucks’ defense with his gritty play, which was accentuated in the game’s closing minutes. His 40 points marked a playoff career-high as he joined D-Wade & King James as the only 3 players in Heat history with 40+ points in a playoff game, helping Miami upset the Bucks in Game 1.

Even with a lackluster showing from counter-parts SGA and Dennis Schroder, Chris Paul proved he’s one of the greatest gamers in the NBA. CP3 put the down-but-not-out Thunder on his back with a series-saving 28 points to force a Game 7, highlighted by 15 points in the 4th quarter, outscoring Harden & Westbrook (10 points) combined in the final period.

Houston’s impactful SG Eric Gordan presented nimble footwork with a tightrope act in the final seconds prior to halftime with a miraculous catch from a 3/4 court heave, ensued by incredible concentration to cap off the half with a lead-taking trey ball.

Switching to a more permanent starting role recently, Goran Dragic was bartender-esque on Monday as he poured in the shots with great finesse off the backboard on devastating efficiency (9-15 FGM).

Milwaukee’s second man in command Khris Middleton didn’t waste any time getting into a groove Monday with 21 of his 28 points coming before intermission on elite shooting from the hardwood.

Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Bucks went baseline-to-baseline on this high-speed freight train type take in which he embarrassed the Heat’s defenders with excellent maneuvers to bang home the two-points. The Greek Freak is simply unstoppable in the fast break.

To make up for his poor scoring outing, the Greek Freak came up huge on this mammoth block at the rim which sent Butler’s stuff flying in the opposite direction.

It’s safe to say Steven Adams was caught off guard when 6-foot-7 RoCo raised up to reject his seemingly simple dunk opportunity from point blank range.

Blanketed by a defender, the big man affectionately called “Splash Mountain” found a way to rise up and drain the improbable buzzer-beating triple to finish off a 40-point first quarter for Milwaukee.
