As NBA fans around the world celebrate Dennis Rodman’s greatness on his 61st birthday, check out some of the best records to know about the legendary Rebounding machine.

While Dennis Rodman‘s driver’s license (or motorcycle’s license) may say he’s 6’7″, his abundance of rebounding records are more reminiscent of someone at least 7’0″ tall. That’s what made the 7x REB Champ so special was that he dominated the glass despite being undersized for his position. “The Worm” instead relied on heart and hustle to outmuscle the competition and create more opportunities for his team that helped win five different NBA Championships during his 14-year HOF career.

Rodman’s record of seven straight Rebounding titles are one of many historic achievements the 2x All-Star accomplished throughout his tenure in the Association. “Dennis the Menace” also earned a spot on SEVEN different All-Defense 1st Teams, proving he wasn’t just a rebounding machine but also an all-world defender who was the perfect example of a “winning player” that may not get the credit he deserves.

The New Jersey native was never much of a scorer, only producing double-digit PPG in one season and can never be confused with an offensive playmaker as his 1.8 career APG never made much of an impact. However, it was no coincidence Rodman played a huge part in the two greatest teams during his era as one of the All-Stars on the ‘Bad Boys’ Pistons that won back-to-back titles and then was featured alongside Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen for a “Big 3” during Chicago’s second 3-peat.

That edge the former second-round pick brought to the court also carried with him off the floor, as detailed during the “Last Dance” that showed many scenes of him ditching the Bulls to go to Las Vegas, speeding on his motorcycle, hooking up with famous women, and even skipping practice to participate in a pro wrestling event on national TV. Rodman’s unique persona is the main thing people remember about him and has sometimes outshined his on-court excellence. Hopefully, these records help remind fans how great he was on the floor.
