Here is the best from August 13, 2019:

Nobody in MLB history, not even Pedro Martinez, racked up 2,000 strikeouts in less innings or batters faced than the 30-year-old Sale who has 200+ Ks in each of his last seven seasons.

Antonio Brown was the headline of the episode, but there were plenty takeaways beyond the All-Pro’s recent “adversity.”

Boston & Cleveland have had back-to-back epic games with this one coming down to the wire as well. After Francisco Lindor forced a blown save from Workman with an RBI-double in the 9th, JBJ hit the final shot of the night in the 10th.

Milwaukee-Minnesota seemed like an easy Twins victory, until Yelich & Grandal tied the game in the 7th. Marwin Gonzalez then proved to be the game-changer of the night with his HR off Josh Hader, revealing Hader’s recent struggles with the long ball.

  • Jose Quintana, CHC: Career-high 14 Ks

 

  • Madison Bumgarner, SF: 5-0 in last 5 starts 

 

  • Jack Flaherty, STL: 23 consecutive shutout IP

 

  • Domingo German, NYY: Leads MLB in Wins (16)

These young studs will surely be a part of some competitive division races in the future, but on August 13th, 2019, they were stopping others from getting to where they wanted to go.
