‘The Best in Sports’ is a daily PSO original series showcasing the best highlights, facts, and stories going on in the land of the NFL, NBA, & MLB every day. Get a recap on EVERYTHING that happened yesterday here.
It seems like these two teams consistently play in great games that come down to the wire and Saturday was no different. After Boston went ice cold during the final stretch, they seized rare opportunities to get within 3 points where Tatum purposely missed the FT and recovered to find a wide-open Jaylen Brown who nailed the 3 at the buzzer, forcing OT. However, Russ & Harden led Houston to victory in the extra period for their 10th win in 12 games since trading Capela.
Westbrook has been playing like a MVP candidate since the new decade started and people are starting to take notice after ANOTHER 40-point performance for ANOTHER Player of the Day recognition.
Ja Morant is having a sensational rookie season with plenty of highlights that will impress any NBA fan. On Saturday, he impressed again with his Partner in Crime Jaren Jackson Jr. still out with a knee injury, but was still able to lead his team to a win over the best team in the West.
Isaiah Simmons is a guy that can do almost everything on the football field from a defensive standpoint. His 40-time was faster than Saquon Barkley’s, Christian McCaffrey’s, Jalen Ramsey’s, Derwin James’, etc. More analysis about Simmons future outlook is coming soon. In the meantime, the Future Outlook for EDGE Chase Young is now available on why he’s on the top of many draft boards (right above Simmons).
Russell Westbrook had the better performance against Boston, but Harden had the more impressive accomplishment by surpassing Jason Terry to enter the top-5 on the all-time career 3PM list.
Trae Young (31.3 PPG and 10.1 APG in February) becomes the fifth player in @NBAHistory to average 30+ PPG and 10+ APG in two straight months (min. 5 games).
The other four are Oscar Robertson, Nate Archibald, Russell Westbrook and James Harden. pic.twitter.com/TJVcz5C3B3
Mitch Robinson is one of the young bright spots on the Knicks that can develop into a premier contributor on a Championship-caliber team one day. He had the best scoring output of his career on Saturday with a career-high 23 points.
