‘The Best in Sports’ is a daily PSO original series showcasing the best highlights, facts, and stories going on in the land of the NFL, NBA, & MLB every day. Get a recap on EVERYTHING that happened yesterday here.
With Saturday full of lackluster NBA matchups sandwiched in between Lakers-Bucks on Friday & Lakers-Clippers on Sunday this weekend, the best game of the day was a Warriors-76ers game without Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, & Josh Richardson. Without all the star talent, these two teams ended up matching up very well and the game came down to the wire.
Jamal Murray hit a shot-clock buzzer beating game-winner against the Hornets earlier this week, and followed that up with this improbable DEEP 3 before the halftime buzzer.
Brooklyn fired their HC Kenny Atkinson on Saturday who’s well-respected across the league and shouldn’t be without a job for too long. Now the new HC of the Nets will have the challenge of trying to bring the burrough it’s first Championship with Kyrie & KD having to mesh well with Dinwiddie & LeVert. Ty Lue is the early favorite thanks to his past of winning a Championship with Kyrie Irving.
Kenny Atkinson’s 190 losses are the 3rd-most by a Nets coach in franchise history.
With Andre Drummond no longer on the team, Blake Griffin severely injured, and Derrick Rose getting older, Christian Wood might be the most promising player in Detroit right now and keeps taking his game to the next level since Drummond’s departure.
Jonas Valanciunas had another impressive performance that has shined a light on his solid season that has him placed among the most underrated players in the league.

In the last few days, the Rockets have now lost to the Knicks, been blown out by the Clippers, and upset by the Hornets. Their hot streak since trading Capela has quickly turned into an ice cold streak that could put a home game for Houston at risk with an entire quarter of the season still to play.
