Here is the best from October 16, 2019:

On a day with no NFL or MLB games, at least the NBA has its final week of preseason games before the regular season is back in action. With that being said, and considering this is one of the most impressive passes LeBron’s ever made, it’s fair to see this as the Best in Sports today, despite being just a preseason play.

The Angels made the headline of the day with their announcement of World Champion manager Joe Maddon becoming the franchise’s new manager for the greatest player of this generation, if not ever!

Aaron Boone will always be a legend for this moment that will be remembered as one of the greatest in New York Yankees history. If he can now add a World Series trophy as a manager to his resume, Boone’s entering uncharted territory for earning his pinstripes.

“Hard Knocks” star TE Darren Waller secured the bag with a midseason extension that is rewarding his early-season success with another 3y/$27M to the RFA tender he’ll receive for 2020.

While the Jalen Ramsey acquisition more than makes up for Marcus Peters’ departure, the Rams will have their work cut out for them to replace Aqib Talib (ribs) and now John Johnson (shoulder) in their secondary.

Brock Osweiler racked up over $40 million dollars in NFL salary during his career, and led Denver (5-6), Houston (8-6), & Miami (2-3) to a even 15-15 record when starting.

You know what they say about a team with 2 QBs – they really have 0 QBs. Fortunately for Miami, they just have to go 10 more miserable games without a QB, because after this season they’ll likely draft a franchise QB with their inevitable top pick in 2020. Hopefully Flores doesn’t announce that next guy (Tua, Hurts, Herbert, etc.) will be the starter for the rest of the season, then bench him the very next game like he did with Rosen.

Will Dissly has played like one of the best TEs in the league this year. It’s a shame his season will come to an end prematurely due to an Achilles injury. Get well soon, Will! 🙏
