Monday night’s NBA action was highlighted by Steph Curry making history with vs. Denver. During the 53-point explosion, he became the all-time leading scorer in Warriors franchise history. As he continues to shatter franchise and NBA records, Curry has put himself in position to be the greatest player in franchise history. Also, Ja Morant showed major hops during a ridiculous dunk on Chicago, the Wizards halted Utah’s 24-game home winning streak, and PSO dropped its latest expert scouting report on Alabama QB Mac Jones.

Here is the best of the day from April 12, 2021:

Curry passed Chamberlain as the Warriors franchise scoring leader amidst 53-pt game

Steph Curry dropped 53 points to pass Warriors legend Wilt Chamberlain for the most points scored in franchise history. Curry finished the game shooting 14-of-24 from the floor and 10-of-18 from deep to lead Golden State past the Denver Nuggets 116-107 Monday night. It was his seventh career game with 50+ PTS and 10+ 3PT, more than any other player (all other players have eight combined).

Curry has been doing it all for Golden State recently, putting the team on his back in order to secure a playoff spot, as this was his seventh consecutive game with 30+ PTS, the most by a Warriors player since Rick Barry in 1967. At 26-28, Golden State currently holds the final spot for the postseason play-in tournament. With how tough the West is, the Warriors will need more superhuman performances like this from Curry if they want to return to the playoffs this season.

STEPH CURRY IS CEMENTED AS THE GREATEST PLAYER IN WARRIORS HISTORY

It was a night to remember for Steph Curry in the Chase Center. The star guard dropped 53 points on 10-18 shooting from deep in their home defeat of Denver. Not only did he have an impressive stat-line, but he passed Wilt Chamberlain (17,783) for the most points ever in Warriors franchise history, needing 19 points entering the night to do so and accomplishing the feat in the first quarter.

Chef Curry is already solidified as the greatest shooter to ever live, but he has now officially earned himself a new title: Greatest Warriors player ever. Chamberlain is a legendary player and one of the best all-time, but Curry has done more for this franchise than any player ever. He brought home three championships, and the first for the team since 1975, while Chamberlain won none for the franchise and some could argue he’s more known for his stops in Los Angeles or Philadelphia.

The baby-faced assassin has spent his entire career in Golden State and has changed the entire game throughout his time there. He made the three-point shot more popular and revived a fanbase in the San Francisco bay area. He’s been undeniably impactful to this organization, and deserves a lot of credit for the respect they have today as a franchise. Curry has surely established himself as the best to ever put on a Warriors jersey and now has the points to prove it.
