2008: New York Giants defeated the previously 18-0 New England Patriots 17-14 in Super Bowl XLII. QB Eli Manning was named MVP after a game-winning drive highlighted by WR David Tyree’s iconic “helmet catch” and a GW-TD to Plaxico Burress

2002: K Adam Vinatieri converted a last-second GW-FG to clinch the New England Patriots’ 1st Super Bowl in franchise history over the “Greatest Show on Turf” St. Louis Rams in QB Tom Brady‘s 1st season as the starting QB, taking over for Drew Bledsoe

1979: Minnesota Twins traded 33-year-old future Hall of Fame 1B and 1977 AL MVP Rod Carew to the California Angels for 4 players where Carew continued to make the All-Star Team for the next 6 seasons in Cali
