There are no elite teams through Week 11 of the 2021 season, especially in the NFC Wild Card race. The Minnesota Vikings, San Francisco 49ers, and Philadelphia Eagles are all vying for a Wild Card berth despite having middle-of-the-pack records. The Vikings close victory over the Packers proved they are still in the playoff push and have the capacity to beat top tier teams, especially when Kirk Cousins utilizes the play-action pass to perfection.

  • Davante Adams has the most career REC TD (11) & consecutive GP (3) with multiple REC TD against the Vikings ever
  • Justin Jefferson has the most REC (151) in a player’s 1st 2 career seasons in Vikings history, over Randy Moss (149)
  • Jefferson has the t-most franchise GP (11) with 100+ REC YDS with Randy Moss in a player’s 1st 2 career seasons
  • Minnesota Vikings are the only team in the NFL to lead by 7+ PTS during each game in the 2021 season
  • Most PASS TD in a QB’s 1st 200 career GS: 1. Rodgers (432), 2. Brees (394), 3. Peyton (382), 4. Brady (381)
  • Most consecutive PASS ATT without 1 INT in MIN history: 1. 2020-21 Kirk (224), 2. 2019 Kirk (201), 3. 2021 Kirk (195)

VIKINGS, 49ERS, & EAGLES ARE PRIME CONTENDERS FOR NFC’S FINAL 2 PLAYOFF SPOTS

The NFL is better off when most teams have a shot at making the playoffs, rather than just one or two teams generating the headlines. Fanbases obviously get more involved when their teams have a shot at the playoffs. The Vikings have playoff potential despite their .500 record, as evidenced by their Week 11 win over the division-leading Green Bay Packers and MIN is going for one of the NFC’s Wild Card spots along with the 49ers and Eagles. Numerous other teams are a tier behind them in the race.

Kirk Cousins kept the Vikings up throughout the majority of the game, until the Packers made a typical Aaron Rodgers comeback. Cousins completed a drive that would end with Greg Joseph‘s game-winning Field Goal in the final seconds. The Vikings may be a middling team, but on the field, especially against a division rival, they have a chance to upset any opponent and have proven they can stay in any game. The 49ers have Super Bowl experience while Philly has the easiest schedule left so none can be counted out.
