Both teams in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals went into battle without their star players, so someone else needed to step up. Milwaukee came away with the win, and it was Brook Lopez who shined in the absence of Milwaukee’s best player. He racked up 33 points and tallied four blocks. Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday, and Bobby Portis all added over 20 points as well. Milwaukee now sits one win away from the franchise’s first Finals appearance since 1974.

WITHOUT GIANNIS, BROOK LOPEZ IS BACK TO BEING A BEAST AROUND THE BUCKET

COLORS KEY | FULL BUCKS OUTLOOK

Milwaukee lost star player Giannis Antetokounmpo to injury in Game 4, and were without him on Thursday night. In order for Milwaukee to win, someone else had to step up, and many did, but Brook Lopez was the most noticeable of them all. He recorded 33 points and looked like his vintage self. Lopez shot 77.8% from the field, and was dominant around the rim like he used to always be. This was critical for the Bucks as Giannis is usually the one who dominates the paint, but Brook filled the role admirably and helped the Bucks get one win away from the NBA Finals.
