New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram has had an illustrious NFL career, but his talent became very evident even back in his days playing in college, where he won the Heisman Trophy in 2009 at the University of Alabama. Drafted in 2011, Ingram became a focal point of the Saints offense for eight seasons. The emergence of Saints star RB Alvin Kamara in 2017 reduced Ingram’s role in the offense, so NOR allowed Ingram to leave in free agency.
After a terrific 2019 season with the Baltimore Ravens, Ingram slipped behind Gus Edwards in the depth chart in 2020, leading to Baltimore releasing him in the offseason. A brief stint with the rebuilding Houston Texans in 2021 saw Ingram eventually reunite via trade with the franchise that drafted him. For an offense looking to find an identity in the post-Drew Brees era, Ingram has continuously showed his value to the Saints on & off the field, cemented with records to show for it.
