The San Francisco 49ers updated Team Outlook after hiring former Panthers interim coach Steve Wilks as the team’s new DC. Wilks, 53, led Carolina to a 6-6 record, nearly vaulting them into playoff contention. Wilks is well-traveled, previously serving as DC for the Panthers and Browns, while also having a short run as HC of the Cardinals. He is replacing DeMeco Ryans, who was recently hired as the Texans’ next HC.
