The NFL offseason is a time of change and uncertainty, with players changing teams and franchises scrambling to improve their rosters through free agency. With the 2023 NFL free agency period fast approaching, analysts and fans are eagerly anticipating the potential moves that could take place. While the specifics are always difficult to predict, there are several overarching predictions that could come to fruition in the upcoming free agency period.

Mainly, after a balance of power has been lost between the two conferences, the offseason is the only time where that could change. Likewise, the reigning Conference champion in the NFC is losing an abundance of high-profile players to free agency and will have to remake their defense over the coming weeks.

Some of the young Quarterbacks in the league haven’t been put in the right position to succeed yet and will need their front offices to stock up on quality receivers and offensive linemen to bolster their chances of dominance in 2023. Among all the free agents, the two biggest ones are former MVP Quarterbacks who could be on the move and completely change the landscape of the NFL.

At the same time, there are some very popular players with highly-qualified resumes that are supposedly on the trade market as well with an abundance of teams that could be clamoring for their services. A lot could happen this year in free agency, but this article focuses on the absolute best-case scenario for the NFL if these five things all go down.

Here are the 5 best predictions that could happen during 2023 NFL free agency. Do you agree? Create your own rankings below!

PSO Rankings

1
NFC TEAMS ADDING QB'S

The NFC can’t compare to the AFC when it comes to quality of Quarterbacks. Besides Jalen Hurts, it can be argued that almost all of the top-10 QBs in the NFL reside in the AFC (Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, Trevor Lawrence, Lamar Jackson, Tua Tagovailoa, Deshaun Watson). The teams who need a QB in the NFC (Carolina, Atlanta, Tampa Bay, Washington) must make a move this offseason to go and get those guys and bring power back to the NFC.

2
FIELDS & MAC SUPPORTING CAST

The 2021 NFL Draft class was loaded at QB with Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, Justin Fields, and Mac Jones. However, Lawrence has been the only one to truly emerge as a solidified franchise QB so far. Wilson and Lance have yet to prove anything while Fields and Jones have shown flashes of Pro Bowl potential but haven’t had the supporting cast to truly showcase their best abilities. Bill Belichick and Ryan Poles should make it a priority this offseason to give their young QBs all the tools possible and finally put high-quality WRs around them and strengthen the Offensive Line so they can shine in 2023 and beyond.

3
EAGLES ADD DEFENSE

The Philadelphia Eagles have a huge advantage in the NFC due to having the only elite QB but the rest of their team is falling apart in free agency. However, they’ll have plenty of cap space to re-tool this offseason as opposed to rebuild. Fortunately, the LB, CB, and Safety positions are especially loaded in free agency and could help them easily replace TJ Edwards, James Bradberry, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, and Marcus Epps.

4
RODGERS TO RAIDERS

Aaron Rodgers could potentially retire but with $60M on the line, it’s increasingly likely he decides to continue playing in 2023 but the Packers seem to be ready to move onto the Jordan Love era in Green Bay which means the 4x MVP could be on the move. The Jets have been linked to Rodgers the most of late, but the Raiders would be the better situation for the future Hall of Famer to link back up with his favorite WR alongside Darren Waller and Hunter Renfrow to give A-Rod the best group of weapons he’s ever had and make the AFC West one of the most exciting divisions of all-time.

5
ODELL TO COWBOYS

The Dallas Cowboys and Odell Beckham Jr. have been flirting with each other on and off over the past year while OBJ has been recovering from a torn ACL he suffered during the Rams’ Super Bowl victory. It became clear Dak Prescott missed Amari Cooper last year and Jerry Jones knows they could instantly bolster their receiving corps by adding a guy of Beckham’s caliber. CeeDee Lamb/Michael Gallup/OBJ would form quite the trio in Dallas and help make them contenders not only in the NFC East but the NFC as a whole.
