Throughout the 2021 MLB Season, many team and league records were broken, perhaps most memorably the records set by Shohei Ohtani’s incredible performance. Many other players made history of their own including Salvador Perez hitting the most home runs by a catcher, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hitting the most home runs by an MLB player under 22 years old.

The 2021 Silver Slugger Awards highlighted some unprecedented feats these players set, and they created more of their own. Ohtani joined Ichiro Suzuki among the all-time Japenese-born legends and four Braves’ players enjoyed individual recognition from their World Series Championship season, among other historic marks.
