The year 2022 had plenty of special moments that captivated fans around the world but among the NFL, NBA, and MLB, these were the best of the best, and the ones that will be remembered for years, if not decades to come.

The Machine etched his name into the history books forever, Jakobi Meyers made the worst lateral ever, Steph Curry had the greatest moment of his illustrious career, Antonio Brown caused chaos, and the divisional round included some all-time endings. It was truly an unforgettable year in sports.

Arguably the greatest game of all-time, the epic Bills vs. Chiefs divisional round showdown is the clear-cut most memorable moment of 2022. Two transcendent talents Patrick Mahomes & Josh Allen combined for one of the best QB-played games in NFL history with an all-time climax that saw a record amount of scoring in the final two minutes.

AB STORMING OUT FACTS:

– This will likely be the last game of Antonio Brown‘s career

– Buccaneers were 11-4 fighting for the NFC’s No.1 seed

– Bruce Arians retired as a Head Coach after that season

 

There were a lot of things leading up to this moment but nobody could’ve expected this to be the outcome. AB’s injuries, relationship with HC Bruce Arians, and history of selfish antics all played a part in one of the most memorable moments of 2022 and chaotic events football fans have ever seen.

CURRY’S GAME 4 FACTS:

– 1st Finals game with 40+ PTS/10+ REB/7+ 3PM ever

– Won 1st Finals MVP of his career & 4th Championship

– Boston Celtics were up 2-1 in series and leading in 4th Qtr

 

The Golden State Warriors needed Steph Curry to step up and carry them to win the 2022 NBA Finals and that’s exactly what the greatest shooter ever did to win his first career Finals MVP. He exploded for 43 points in Game 4, proving he can not only be the best player on a Championship team but can put them on his back en route to another Bay Area parade.

PATRIOTS LOSING LATERAL

PATRIOTS-RAIDERS FACTS:

Jakobi Meyers lateraled it with 0 seconds left in a tie game

Chandler Jones got stiff-armed & stiff-armed a guy in 1 play

– Pats-Raiders were also involved in infamous Tuck Rule game

 

The Patriots and Raiders have plenty of history dating back to New England’s first Super Bowl run where they advanced due to the ‘Tuck Rule’. 20 years later, these two teams were involved in another memorable moment as Jakobi Meyers’ inexplicable decision to lateral it directly toward Chandler Jones single-handedly cost Belichick’s Pats the game with playoff implications on the line.

PUJOLS 700TH HR FACTS:

– Joined Hank Aaron, Barry Bonds, Babe Ruth in 700-HR club

– Pujols was the oldest (42) player to reach 700 career HR

– Joined Aaron as only players w/ 700+ HR & 3,000+ Hits

 

This moment was as special in 2022 as it was a culmination of Albert Pujols‘ overall greatness for the last two decades. The Machine didn’t hit one bomb, but two dingers to get to 700 in LA where he donned a Dodgers jersey the year prior. Even the away crowd was going crazy as the Cardinals legend etched his name into the history books forever.
