BEN SIMMONS WON’T WEAR A 76ERS UNIFORM AGAIN
COLORS KEY | FULL 76ERS OUTLOOK
Ben Simmons was named to his third All-Star game this season, but it is safe to say that he wasn’t playing at a high level in the postseason, specifically against Atlanta. It seemed like he was a liability on the offensive end, due to his lack of shot taking and poor free throw percentage. He shot 34.2% from the stripe this postseason, which is the worst in NBA history for players with at least 70 attempts.
Additionally, he only shot the ball in the fourth quarter three times all series, including zero attempts in each of the last four games. Even Doc Rivers said in a postgame press conference that he isn’t sure if Simmons can be a championship-caliber point guard for them anymore. Ben Simmons was a big part of “The Process” but he’s now the one holding it back. Philly will have to look for a suitor seeking a 25-year-old playmaker with great defensive skills if they want to seriously contend for Championships in the future.
