Last year during NFL free agency, Tom Brady made a big splash by signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after 20 years with the New England Patriots. His time with the Patriots was undoubtedly unmatched as he was a 14x Pro Bowler, 3x NFL MVP, 6x Super Bowl champion, and 4x Super Bowl MVP. In his first season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers he led them to a Super Bowl championship, while he was named Super Bowl MVP.

Though only being on the team for just over a year, Brady has certainly left his mark in terms of the Buccaneers free agency. Since arriving in Tampa Bay, Brady has already attracted some high profile names to join alongside him on the Bucs, including former teammate Rob Gronkowski, Antonio Brown, Leonard Fournette, Giovani Bernard and now 5x Pro Bowl CB Richard Sherman

  • Tom Brady had 4,633 PASS YDS & 40 PASS TD, while leading the Bucs to an 11-5 record and his 7th career Super Bowl win
  • Since arriving in Tampa, Brady has helped recruit Gronkowski, AB, Fournette, Gio Bernard, and Richard Sherman

Tom Brady, arguably the greatest NFL player of all time, signed with the Buccaneers before the 2020 season, ending his 20-year career with the New England Patriots. Ever since, he has been instrumental in recruiting players from around the league to join him in his quest for additional Super Bowls. The Bucs have signed many marquee players since Brady’s arrival including his former Patriots teammate and favorite red zone target, Rob Gronkowski.

Leonard Fournette, Antonio Brown, and Giovani Bernard were all also added to bolster the offense, whereas the Bucs have been able to maintain their defensive roster. On September 29th, former Seattle Seahawks CB Richard Sherman signed with the Bucs after going unsigned throughout the offseason.

Sherman announced his signing, citing Tom Brady in helping drive his decision to go to Tampa Bay, as the Bucs QB had a great sales pitch: Come win a Super Bowl. The 5x Pro Bowler will look to provide a much needed boost to the Buccaneers defense that was one of the league’s best a year ago, but has allowed 25+ points in all three games this season and the most completions of any NFL team through three weeks into the 2021 season.
