RB Arian Foster‘s professional football career began when he signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2009. Though he didn’t receive much playing time as a rookie, he quickly rose up the depth chart and soon became one of the top backs in the league. Having broken multiple franchise records during his short, yet productive tenure in Houston, Foster has certainly cemented himself as the greatest Texans running back ever (franchise established in 2002).

ARIAN FOSTER IS THE TOP HOUSTON TEXANS RUNNING BACK OF ALL TIME

Arian Foster largely flew under the radar as he entered the NFL. The New Mexico native’s draft stock plummeted after a disappointing senior year at Tennessee, but the Houston Texans took a chance on the California kid by signing him as an undrafted free agent in 2009, and it quickly paid off. In just his second season, Foster led the league in RUSH YDS (1,616), RUSH TD (16), YScm (2,220), and total TD (18) en route to earning a Pro Bowl selection and 1st-Team All-Pro honors.

Despite only spending seven seasons with the Texans, the Tennessee product sits atop the franchise rushing ranks in virtually every statistical category with numbers that far surpass the next closest player. He also owns the Texans’ single-game rushing record with 231 yards in his second career start. The fact that he was able to set such high marks in a remarkably brief period of time is a testament to his consistently high productivity, firmly establishing Foster as the greatest running back to ever play in Houston.
