Bill Belichick has an elite ability to vary the Patriots’ schemes against each opponent. The Patriots’ 14-10 Week 13 victory against the Bills pushed New England’s running attack to the limit in testy weather conditions, including 50 mph+ wind, and only threw the ball three total times. Belichick’s extends his status as the GOAT NFL Head Coach through one of his greatest coaching performances ever, proven by his ability to adapt no matter what the circumstances are.

  • Josh Allen is the 1st player with 90+ PASS TD & 25+ RUSH YDS in a player’s 1st 4 seasons in NFL history
  • Patriots had fewest PASS ATT (3) by a team during 1 GP since 1974 & fewest PASS ATT (1) in a 1st half since 1978
  • New England Patriots are the 1st team to record a RUSH ATT on 90+% (46/49) of their plays in 1 GP since 1978
  • New England is the 1st NFL team to win on the road with 3 or fewer PASS ATT since 1942
  • Patriots recorded the fewest RUSH ATT (3) during 1 game in franchise history
  • Damien Harris recorded the longest RUSH TD (64 YDS) by a Patriots player since 1997 (Curtis Martin – 70 YDS)

BILL BELICHICK IS THE GOAT BECAUSE EACH GAME PLAN IS DIFFERENT EVERY WEEK

No other Head Coach in the NFL in 2021 would have resorted to a game-plan as outlandish as Belichick’s, but he committed to running the ball and it worked out. No one can definitively know what to expect from the legendary NFL Head Coach due to his team’s ability to mold their units to whatever they believe will result in a win.

Even though Mac Jones couldn’t showcase his potential Super Bowl winning ability on the national stage, Bill Belichick is still willing to go against conventional thought and rely on his intuition. Passing the football is prioritized season after season in the NFL. Bill Belichick didn’t care about today’s so-called “passing league” that the NFL has become.

With tough winds, it was clear the Patriots knew they couldn’t throw the ball against the wind successfully and instead resorted to rushing the ball on basically EVERY single offensive play except for three passes (of 49 offensive snaps). Any other team (including Buffalo) would’ve tried to push the ball down the field, but Belichick stuck to his rushing roots and dismantled the Bills defense, which was routinely in nine and ten man boxes and still couldn’t stop the ground-and-pound gameplan.
