Crucial mistakes often overshadow spectacular plays. Corey Seager wishes he was a few feet to his right after making one of those critical mistakes that ended up being the final play of NLCS Game 2. Instead, he will be remembered for missing the ball completely and costing his team the game. In the inning before, the Dodgers lost their two-run lead to Atlanta but Seager made a perfect throw that would’ve changed everything. The Dodgers SS went from having a game-saving out to the game-losing error.

COREY SEAGER WENT FROM THE GAME-SAVING OUT TO THE GAME-LOSING ERROR

Corey Seager is known for helping the Dodgers win the World Series in 2020 with a phenomenal playoff performance. However, a defensive mistake in 2021 NLCS Game 2 has put the Dodgers down two games to none with hope dwindling that they can run it back. While people make mistakes, Seager’s came at a critical moment that ended the game. However, an inning earlier he made the perfect throw to preserve the lead if his Catcher Will Smith got in front and caught it for the out.

Corey Seager’s blunder is not like a Bill Buckner-level impact on his team, but it’s still a costly mistake. It’s the NLCS; players have to play their best baseball to advance in the postseason. The Braves have defeated the Dodgers in two straight walk-off wins, along with taxing LA’s strong bullpen. Seager hopes to flip the script of the playoffs and help cement Chris Taylor‘s Wild Card heroics as one that led to another World Series Championship.
