The Dallas Cowboys have emerged as one of the top teams in the NFL so far this season, aided by a revamped defensive unit led by new Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn. The Cowboys offense has been one of the best when healthy, however their defense has left a lot to be desired in the past. Now that the defense has improved, the Cowboys should be the top team in the NFC East.

DALLAS COWBOYS’ REVAMPED DEFENSE MAKES THEM THE CLEAR NFC EAST FAVORITE

Each year, a new team wins the NFC. This year, it’s the Dallas Cowboys with the other three teams looking like they could land a top-10 pick. Meanwhile, Dak Prescott continues to prove he’s a top-5/top-10 Quarterback and the only above-average QB in the division. Despite the loss of Demarcus Lawrence, the defense is thriving and has forced the most turnovers (8) of any team in the NFL so far.

First round pick Micah Parsons has provided a strong pass rushing option and solidified the Cowboys defense. Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn has provided the team with different schemes to a previously weak defensive unit. Trevon Diggs has emerged as a turnover machine and elite Cornerback in Year 2 with three interceptions in two games. Overall, the Cowboys defense has evolved into a respectable unit and it elevates them to the top of the NFC East.
