It felt like a must-win Game 3 for Denver back on their home court, but they were not able to take care of business, and now find themselves down 3-0 with a sweep seeming likely. Nikola Jokic received his MVP trophy and went on to play like one, posting a historic 32-20-10 triple-double. However, the dynamic Phoenix backcourt was too much for the Nuggets to handle as they combined for 55 points and were aggressive scorers all night. The Suns are now one game away from the conference finals.

After not being able to defend their home court in Game 3, it now looks like the Nuggets season will be coming to a close soon. Despite this, they still have a very bright future ahead of them. They will have the reigning MVP Nikola Jokic, who’s only 26 years old, alongside playmaking guard Jamal Murray, and rising star Michael Porter Jr., who are both under 25 years old.
Even without Murray, Denver was able to top Damian Lillard and the Trail Blazers in the first round, marking the third year in a row they’ve won a playoff series as Mike Malone has proven to be one of the best coaches in the league. The Nuggets are in great hands moving forward, and will be a championship contender for years to come.
