The Atlanta Falcons updated Team Outlook after releasing benched QB Marcus Mariota, saving the team $12M in cap space. Mariota, 29, signed a two-year, $10.5M deal with Atlanta in 2022 and went on to start 13 games. After a 5-9 record, Mariota got replaced by rookie QB Desmond Ridder, who went on to start the team’s final four games of the season. After being benched, the former Heisman winner left the team for knee surgery and went on the IR.
