Some of the league’s top players showed out for their squads on Sunday night, making playoff spots closer. Steph Curry had 37 in Golden State’s win over Sacramento and now holds the record most 3PM in a month (85). Kevin Durant came back and didn’t skip a beat, scoring 33 points in their defeat of Phoenix to extend Brooklyn’s conference lead to 1.5 games. Kyrie Irving added 34 as well. Lou Williams’ clutch shots gave Atlanta the comeback win over Milwaukee, and are now tied for fourth in the East.

Ja Morant had 28 points for Memphis, who would go on to beat Portland for the second time in three days. Bradley Beal, the league’s second-leading scorer, dominated with 33 in Washington’s come-from-behind victory over Cleveland, they’re eighth win in a row. Charlotte crushed Boston, cruising to a 21-point dub at home as Boston’s struggles during day games continue.

NBA TOP PERFORMERS

LOU WILL IS STILL A HIGH-QUALITY SCORER IN THE CLUTCH

The Atlanta Hawks have been one of the more surprising teams this season. They currently sit tied for fourth in the Eastern Conference ahead of teams like Boston, and last year’s champs, Miami. Atlanta has been especially good more recently in the season, and Lou Williams, since his move from LA, has been a key reason why.

Atlanta defeated the third-seeded Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday night thanks to a fourth-quarter comeback, and Williams was the spark for it. He had 15 points, and every single one came in the final period. 12 of his 15 came from three-pointers all within the last seven minutes of the contest. One of his buckets gave the Hawks their first lead of the second half.

Lou Will has been clutch throughout his career and still is at 34 years of age. The Clippers trading him away made it clear that they didn’t value him too highly anymore, but he is proving to them that he can still ball, especially in the clutch. His 23.4 minutes per game with Atlanta have been efficient and key to their recent success, going 11-3 with Williams in the squad.
