Future Outlook: Anthony Edwards Can Be a Future NBA Scoring Champ

After becoming a five-star recruit out of Holy Spirit Prep School, Anthony Edwards chose to attend the University of Georgia over other schools such as Kansas, Kentucky, and the University of North Carolina. After one year at Georgia, Edwards declared for the NBA draft with averages of 19.1 PPG, 5.2 RPG, and 2.8 APG.
Edwards was drafted first overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2020 NBA draft and made an immediate impact, starting 55 games and playing in all 72 games of the 2021 season. That effort was rewarded by making the 2020-21 All-Rookie 1st-Team, and a second place finish behind Hornets star LaMelo Ball for the NBA Rookie of the Year award.

Anthony Edwards is on the right path to greatness as he concluded his rookie year with the most points per game of any player in his rookie class. Edwards is a very skilled offensive scorer who is as much of a threat to throw it down in the paint as he is to shoot the deep ball. The ‘Ant Man’ became the youngest player to record 150 3PM in NBA history.
Edwards flashed his true potential during his rookie season, as he became the first rookie ever to record 40+ PTS and 8+ 3PM on 75+ FG% during one game in NBA history. Along with that, Edwards also holds the record for the most 20+ PT games by a rookie in Timberwolves history. Anthony Edwards will be explosive at the rim for years to come while his jump shot will only improve as he gets more reps. The Georgia product has all the tools to fulfill his destiny as a future NBA scoring champion.
