Despite having decided against playing college basketball, Jalen Green has been on NBA teams’ radars for years. Now he’s finally in the Association and showing everyone exactly why. The second overall pick of the 2021 Draft dropped a team-high 30 points including a franchise rookie record eight threes in just his third career NBA game. Though the sample size is still quite limited, Jalen Green looks to be on his way to NBA stardom and could end up being an All-Star in only a few years.

After his senior year of high school, Jalen Green signed a contract with the NBA G-League Ignite for the 2020-21 season as opposed to playing D1 basketball, becoming one of the first prospects to do so and thus ushering in a new era of NBA recruitment. This decision resulted in a great deal of speculation regarding his development. However, in his first three NBA games, Jalen has shown that he appears to have been progressing at a rapid rate with a tremendous amount of natural talent

With the NBA in its current state, his ability to get to the basket combined with his astounding athleticism and accuracy from downtown, as evidenced by his unreal performance from deep against the Celtics, constitute an ideal skill set for a budding prospect. While nothing is certain in sports, Jalen Green is well on his way to being an All-Star-caliber player in the NBA, and could be considered the new face of the Rockets franchise for years to come.
