In the 2018 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills took a chance and traded up to the 7th overall slot to draft QB Josh Allen, giving up two second-round selections in the process. The former junior college player quickly took over as the Bills starter despite missing four games due to injury his rookie season. Allen followed up with a strong sophomore campaign, starting all 16 games and leading the Bills back to the playoffs as a Wild Card team.

2020 saw the Wyoming product have his best professional season yet, passing for 4,544 yards and 37 TD’s while adding eight TD’s on the ground. The Bills rewarded Allen for his stellar performance with a gargantuan six-year, $258 million extension that will keep him in Buffalo through 2028. With contract negotiations out of the way, the Pro Bowl QB will be able to focus on the season ahead and attempt to capture the franchise’s first Super Bowl title.

JOSH ALLEN WILL BE 1ST BILLS QB TO WIN SUPER BOWL

COLORS KEY | FULL BILLS OUTLOOK

In just three seasons, Josh Allen has already become one of the best quarterbacks not only in his draft class, but in the entire NFL. The 2020 second-team All-Pro selection propelled the Bills to a 13-3 record, securing the team’s first AFC East division title since 1995 and first AFC Championship appearance since 1993.

Despite ending multiple droughts of 20+ years, one thing still haunts the Bills Mafia to this day: the franchise has not won a Super Bowl in its 61 years of existence. They have come incredibly close, most notably from 1990-1993 where HOF QB Jim Kelly led them to four straight title games, but they have still yet to capture the elusive Lombardi Trophy. Allen looks poised to break the curse and become the first Bills QB to reach the pinnacle of football and win a Super Bowl title, especially after inking this historic deal.
