The most hyped-up game of the 2020 season concluded Week 3 on Monday Night Football. The Kansas City Chiefs traveled to M&T Bank Stadium to face the Baltimore Ravens, marking the third meeting between MVP QBs Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson. The game was unexpectedly one-sided however as Mahomes was clicking on all cylinders while Lamar struggled mightily in primetime. Even though the Chiefs were clearly the better team on Monday night, it is still very possible that the AFC playoffs will go through one of these two teams for the foreseeable future.

The Chiefs got creative on offense as they were able to spread the ball all over the place. QB Patrick Mahomes found several ways to push the ball downfield using his dual-threat capabilities including these plays straight out of Backyard Football, under-hand throwing it to FB Anthony Sherman for a TD and later tossing a TD to LT Eric Fisher.

Ravens 2020 3rd Rd pick WR Devin Duvernay showed off his kick returning skills and took this kick-off to the house for six, scoring the only KR-TD of the 2020 season thus far.

With arguably the strongest arm in the NFL, Patrick Mahomes was slinging the ball downfield all night against the Ravens’ secondary. The reigning Super Bowl MVP showed his poise in the pocket and elite arm talent that makes him the most valuable individual player in all of sports.

The Chiefs and their defense were faced with a heck of a challenge in reigning MVP Lamar Jackson, but held down the fort and allowed only a single offensive TD to the Ravens. Chris Jones was a major factor throughout the game as he forced a strip sack to ruin any chance Baltimore scored anything more than FG on offense before half.

Lamar Jackson didn’t win the 2019 MVP award because he was the best passer in the league like most MVP QB’s. While he led the league in Pass TD, Jackson was better than the competition because of his rare elusiveness that helps him put defenders on skates regularly. He pulled out his MVP juke move in the fourth quarter.

One of the biggest and most hyped up games of the 2020 season did not go how most people expected it to. The Kansas City Chiefs certainly held their end of the bargain and put on a show against Baltimore’s defense, but the Ravens offense could not do the same against KC as they were held to just one offensive TD.

Patrick Mahomes led the champs offensive attack again, using a 385-yd day along with 4 TDs in a 34-20 win to become the fastest player in NFL history to reach 10,000 career passing yards (34 GP). With the loss, Lamar remains winless against Mahomes and falls to 0-3 in head-to-head matchups against the fellow MVP.
