It was the beard vs. the mustache as Fitzmagic and the Miami Dolphins took on Minshew Magic and the Jacksonville Jaguars in a Floridian Gridiron battle. The Dolphins proved to be the better of the two Florida-based teams Thursday night as they overwhelmed the Jaguars in every aspect of the game from start to finish. Fitzmagic shined in prime time, while Minshew’s magic seemingly ran out as the game became more lopsided.

With Miami’s top-5 pick Tua Tagovailoa waiting in the wings, Ryan Fitzpatrick knew an 0-3 start could be the end of his starting tenure with Miami. Instead of giving HC Brian Flores a chance to make Tua the Dolphins’ QB1, he put up one of the best performances of his career as he started the game with 12 straight completions and continued to torch the Jags the entire night. He completed 90% of his passes with a perfect 158.3 QBR, and added 39 yards on the ground along with a score.

Miami lacks high-end playmakers for Ryan Fitzpatrick (and soon Tua Tagovailoa) to throw to. However, their underrated weapons like Jakeem Grant are able to step up and make plays like this full extension grab to help Miami move the chains and get on the board where they never looked back.

The Jaguars looked pretty dismal but had one bright spot in RB James Robinson who carried the Jacksonville offense to both of their TDs. Robinson led his team in rushing and receiving yards with 11 carries for 46 yards and caught 6 passes for 83 yards.

Robinson also showed his toughness and athletic capability on this nice catch and run.

The Dolphins defense complemented the offense’s strong outing nicely, thrice stopping the Jaguars on 4th down and forcing a turnover, which led to a scoring drive.

Fitzmagic and the Dolphins were too much for Minshew and the Jags on Thursday Night Football as Miami cruised to a 31-13 victory over their inner-state rival that let the world know the ‘Fins are far from bottom-feeders. The Dolphins have a team that can compete with almost anyone as they’ve proven in every week this season, pushing the Bills and Patriots to their limits in close fourth quarter battles. Against an inferior team like Jacksonville, Miami proved they’re not on that bottom-tier level for those that confuse this team with last year’s talent-lacking squad.
