With the MLB playoffs just around the corner, the red-hot St. Louis Cardinals pulled off a big win on Thursday against their division rivals, the Milwaukee Brewers. Despite trailing for large parts of the game and being down four as late as the seventh inning, STL was able to complete an epic comeback and maintain their great form. Indeed, with a Wild Card spot now seeming like a lock, the Cardinals could pose quite a large threat to the World Series contenders in the NL West.

As the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers fight it out for the best record in the National League, the Cardinals’ late success has largely gone under the radar. Nevertheless, with the Wild Card game coming up, it could be St. Louis who brings an abrupt and disappointing end to one of their seasons. Indeed, no team in Major League Baseball appears to have as much momentum as the St. Louis Cardinals right now. Their impeccable form as well as their ability to overcome setbacks, like today against the Brewers, could pose a real threat to any team with playoff ambitions.
