Originally drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 28th round of the 1974 MLB draft, Paul Molitor made his MLB debut in 1978 with the Milwaukee Brewers, where he earned a second place finish for Rookie of the Year award. Molitor made his first All-Star appearance in his third year, but it would not be until the 1990’s where he would become a consistent All-Star. With the Brewers, Molitor recorded three top-10 MVP finishes, five All-Star appearances, and two Silver Slugger awards.

PAUL MOLITOR WENT DOWN AS THE 2ND GREATEST BREWERS HITTER EVER

Paul Molitor played 15 seasons with the Brewers and broke numerous records for the franchise on his way to multiple All-Star games and Silver Slugger awards. Molitor is first in career SB, season AVG, season OBP, season Runs, and is second in career AVG, H, GP, PA, Runs and Walks. Along with that, he also led the entire league in Runs three times, PA twice, and doubles once with the Brewers.

The only hitter in Wisconsin who was better all-time is Robin Yount, who is largely considered the greatest Brewers player of all-time, after he played 20 seasons with the franchise, winning multiple MVP awards and earned his way to three All-Star appearances and three Silver Sluggers. While Paul Molitor has a higher career AVG and more stolen bases, the MVP awards along with having more HR and RBI make Yount the greatest Brewers hitter ever with Molitor right behind him.
