Game 2 featured plenty of back and forth action in the second half until Utah slightly pulled away late in the fourth in large part due to their sharpshooting. They made 20 3PM, which is tied for the single-game franchise record in a playoff game. Donovan Mitchell went off again for 37 points including six trey balls. Jordan Clarkson had 24 off the bench and cashed in six long range shots as well. As a team, the Jazz shot 51.3% from beyond the arc. Reggie Jackson led the Clippers in scoring with 29, but the Jazz’s elite shooting was the difference maker.

Another game, and the Jazz have recorded another 3PM record as they tied their playoff franchise record for 3PM during one game as they extended their NBA record for consecutive games (6) with 17+ 3PM. This comes after shattering an abundance of 3PM records like 3’s per game (16.7), most players (7) with 100+ 3PM, and the first team to hit double-digit trey balls in every single game.
The James Harden-led Rockets and Steph Curry-led Warriors set plenty of 3PM records as well but not to the level of this Jazz team who have a team full of sharpshooters and Rudy Gobert in the middle as the leader of the defense. The combination is what elevated them to the No.1 seed in the West and their ability to hit from deep is translating to winning playoff games as they’re 6-0 this postseason with Donovan Mitchell in the lineup.
