Here is the best from October 21, 2019:

The Patriots defense has been ridiculously good this year. If it wasn’t for Mahomes’ outburst in the 2nd half of the AFC Championship, this team would have allowed a total of 78 points over the last 11 games, dating back to the last time they played the Jets in Week 17. That’d be 7.1 PPG. Belichick’s blitz packages have been a huge part of their defensive success, and even had Sam Darnold admittedly “seeing ghosts.” The Patriots defense is scary good right now.

Jaylen Brown has the potential to live up to this lofty extension. However, he’ll have to take major strides with his 3-point consistency, ability to shoot off the dribble, and playmaking to become as good of an offensive player as he is on defense.

The other day, Buddy Hield signaled to Kings GM Vlade Divac to show him the money. While it wasn’t as much as he could likely get on the market, Divac and the Kings showed Buddy the money, and locked up another key member of their young core.

A few days ago, it was reported Zion would miss the 1st few weeks of the season with a knee injury, but now it’s become clear that recovery time is closer to 2 months as he just got surgery on a torn meniscus. The most anticipated NBA debut since LeBron James in 2003 will have to wait a little longer.

The Raiders add another pick to their 2020 draft haul while Houston’s draft assets look like a ghost town. The one pick they did recently gain, a 3rd Rd pick in the Jadeveon Clowney deal, is now headed to Oakland in exchange for CB Gareon Conley.

After trade talk heated up over the last week, the Pacers instead extended the young PF to be Myles Turner’s running mate in the front-court for the foreseeable future. It remains to be seen if that duo can be successful while on the court together.

Dejounte Murray missed the entire 2018-19 season with a torn ACL. He’s looked so good in his recovery, that Pop and the Spurs are investing $64MM in the next 4+ years of his career.

With Prince’s only NBA experience coming with the non-competitive Hawks, Prince impressed the Nets front office with his team-leading 16.3 PPG in the Preseason, and they rewarded him with a substantial $14.5M AAV extension to keep him on a competitor through 2022.

Joe Ingles has an argument for being one of the most underrated players in the NBA, whose stats don’t represent the true value he has on the floor, considering all the big shots he hits, and lockdown defense when it matters. The Jazz will now have Ingles’ services for at least three more seasons.
