The NBA world was shocked to find out that 7x All-Star F LaMarcus Aldridge was signing with the Nets on Saturday. His addition comes on the heels of Brooklyn adding Blake Griffin to their roster after he was bought out, now the home of six former All-Stars. Also, the Sacramento Kings outlasted the Cleveland Cavaliers thanks to a Harrison Barnes buzzer-beater, and San Francisco Giants legend Buster Posey celebrated his birthday as one of the best Catchers of this generation.

Here is the best of the day from March 27, 2021:

LaMarcus Aldridge decided to join the Brooklyn Nets

LaMarcus Aldridge signed with the Brooklyn Nets for the rest of the season on Saturday after the 35-year-old agreed to a contract buyout with the San Antonio Spurs. Aldridge will team up with former All-Star Blake Griffin, who Brooklyn recently signed after he was bought out by Detroit, as front court reinforcements in the Nets’ pursuit of the franchise’s first championship.

In 15 seasons in the NBA (nine with Portland, six with San Antonio), Aldridge averaged 19.4 points and 8.3 rebounds per game while hitting 49.1% FG and a spectacular 81.1% FT as a big man. He has earned seven All-Star appearances and five All-NBA nods. His addition makes Brooklyn the odds-on favorite to win the title, especially with the injury concerns the Lakers are currently dealing with.
