Phoenix rode a 30-16 second quarter to a commanding 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals. Giannis Antetokounmpo had a game-high 42 points, the Suns’ well-balanced attack was too much for Milwaukee to handle. Devin Booker had a team-high 31 points on seven made threes, and Mikal Bridges stepped up huge for Phoenix with 27 points. Teams up 2-0 win the NBA Finals 89% of the time throughout the last 35 years, so the Suns are in great shape historically to close it out for their first ever championship.

Phoenix recorded 20 threes on 50% shooting from deep in Game 2, while Milwaukee made just nine on 29% shooting. The Suns are only the third team ever to reach the 20 3PM threshold in an NBA Finals game, and it proved to be a key difference maker on Thursday. The Suns were able to get production from beyond the arc from more than just their stars, as they had six players make multiple trey balls. In order to come back in the series, Milwaukee will have to defend better from deep and prevent open looks, while also making sure they drain their own open looks from beyond the arc.
